Primarily, I am not a fan of exercise, not one bit, unless I am having lots of fun exercising and don't realize that I am actually exercising. Catch my drift?
Well, in an attempt to be a supportive significant other, I exercised. On Sunday, I participated in the "Climb to Conquer Cancer Walk" up to the Sandia Peak...6.5 miles. Oh my goodness! I was certain that death was near! Then, in an act of who knows what, but certainly acting as a glutton for punishment, John and I went on a 10 mile bicycle ride.
Two things:
1. I proved to myself that I am not a complete sloth and that I can most certainly endure.
2. I am not a quitter, I may be slow, but I still finish (even with a little help from John).

John, the one and only.
John, my understanding, dashingly good looking, affectionate, boyfriend, partner, roommate, and best friend. I am going to brag, he is tall, stately, intelligent, wise, funny, cozy, and he is my home, and in my heart. He evens me out, he helps me out, and sometimes wears me out. ;) And for the record, I love, love, love him.
Turner, the down and dirty.
A man on the go to say the least. An energetic, silly, cuddly Turner Bug. He like cars, driving (well pretending to drive), books, he falls asleep with Good Night Moon and Guess How Much I Love You, loves to play in the water, is learning to pee in the toilet, goes to Montessori school, loves his bear and his Isotopes baseball Orbits stuffed animal, won't go anywhere without his red Croc's, does not like the doctor, loves eggs and Kashi cereal, gives open mouth kisses, sleeps in a big boy bed, won't give up the pacifier at night, an excellent runner, just learned to jump as well, gets very excited to see pictures of people he knows, jumps and screams when he sees a hot air balloon, favorite word is "no," and is a world-class climber. And I love, love, love him.
Blogging...
This is my third blog attempt and I am determined to keep up.
Let's begin, I am Alicia, the mother to one extremely intelligent and silly boy, the partner to one completely extraordinary man, the employee at Futures for Children, a nonprofit organization that works with American Indian children to achieve educational success, and the daughter of one amazing father.
Interests: Turner, John, reading, quotes, pictures, shopping, changing the world or at least making the attempt, democratic/liberal pursuits, speaking my mind, working diligently and hard, relaxing, coffee of any kind, writing, and anything that involves my son's well being and happiness.
Anti-interests: ignorance, unpreparedness, irresponsibility, lack of loyalty, tomatoes, handling raw meat, doing nothing, ants, people who drive in the fast lane who aren't going, well, fast, giving up.
